PEACE COMMITMENT

short term commitment, I will always smile at someone around me because i believe thats one way of making peace with others.

Long term commitment, I will always pray for those who are living in places where there is war.Because i believe its only through prayer  that we can reach to them.

INNER PEACE.

I believe that, inner peace is when, one has peace in his mind , heart and in spirit. Inner peace makes one feel comfortable, happy, loving and confident. Without inner peace, one cannot be in a position to live happily not only by himself, but also with others. Most people associate inner peace with religion, when one has a believe on a supernatural being, they put their trust in him, they fell safe and cared for and that way they get inner peace.

STAND- UP.DON'T STAND FOR HOMOPHOBIC BULLYING.

After watching this vedio,I realized that many people in the society, are suffering from discrimination because of their sexuality. Many homosexuals have gone through alot of suffering which includes physical torture and some have even commited suicide.I believe that, this being a democratic world everyone should do whatever she or he wish to do as long as it doesn't hurt anyone.Homosexuals have the right as human beings to be happy and to express their feelings to whoever they want to.In as much as some of us may think that we are upright just because, we are not homosexuals,we should also have in mind that homosexuals want to feel they are upright too, with their sexuality.Lets stand up and respect ones sexuality, that way we shall make peace with each other.

LIBYA .

Political and humanitarian crisis that has hit Libya is one of the biggest revolutionary events that have hit the Arab world in the 21st century. For a long time most Arab countries have been
served by long term presidents, who preceded their leadership from kings and their countries’ monarchical systems allowed them enjoy long-term rule. Muammar Qaddafi has led Libya for forty two years. This age of enlightenment that has been experienced in the Arab world has come alongside many atrocities, with the old conservative administrators clinging to power while the young modern generations preaching change on administrative and political structure. In Libya the young and futurists from the eastern towns of Benghazi and Ajdabiya have taken up arms with the old regime of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, this group of young people has made a rebellion to the president asking him to step down. This has sparked a lot of internal war between the rebel east and the violent forces of Gaddafi’s government.
The war that has lasted for the two weeks has seen 200 civilians killed, the United States government together with its allies: United Kingdom, France, United Nations and NATO have decided to impose the no-fly zone law in the Libyan air, to stop Libyan air force from committing more air insults on its people.  Even, though the group also went ahead and helped the rebels to fight the Gaddafi forces by bombing cities and arming the rebels, this action has caused more casualties and more deaths. In my opinion, these two parties should put aside their own interest and make peace  to save the lives of those who are innocent especially kids.

Education as a tool for empowerment

The video documentary “Central Asia-Building Peace” inspires and sheds light on how education can overcome bigger problems bedeviling societies across the world. Since September 11, America has been haunted by the ghosts of terror and every administration from then has actively engaged in fighting terror with terror and presently a ten year war on terror rages on in Afghanistan and Pakistan and there seems to be no victory on sight.

Greg Martenson offers a better solution: Not choppers, not Guns but education. He has expressed humanity of the highest order ,his idea of starting schools in the rural areas of Pakistan is amazingly great  .His ability to penetrate into a foreign culture and interact with local Pakistanis was a blessing to them, he improved their lives by building schools ,together with Central Asia Institute leaders ,Greg awards scholarships to motivate students ,they also provided village education centers for women and they went on and provided clean water and taught them importance of cleanliness. In this way Greg is winning a war through hearts and minds rather terror.

Greg Martenson model for development inspires me. Being born in a third world country I deeply understand the need to educate women and young girls. When this two groups of people are educated; infant mortality reduces, population explosion reduces and the basic quality of life is improved. As Shabir said education can criticize, bring change and progress to a society. Education liberates the mind from the shackles of poverty and ignorance. I intend to educate communities back in my country to shun brutal and barbaric cultural practices such as Female Genital Mutilation and other acts of violence visited upon women e.g. rape.

PEACE

In Christian mythologies man is said to have lost that eternal peace that God bestowed to him. This myth states that  when man ate the forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden he lost all that made him a holy person and God punished him: He lost the peace, he was send to suffer, he has to toil to make use of the natural resources that god created.
In today’s world, man does not meet the comfort that the world provides, they may be some troubles between individual persons, when one fails to achieve his/her heartily desires. And there is that peace that involves the whole community: people have several differences and feelings towards each other, hatred and animosity has ruled all over the world. There are religious, natural resources, political, racial, social, tribal, economical, and regional differences. All these differences have caused today’s man troubles.
In Africa for example, fight for natural resources and religious differences have caused luck of peace in many countries. The religious differences between northern and Southern Sudan has led to the death of millions of people and thousands has been displaced.

The mining and export of diamond has contributed to the internal conflict in the democratic republic of Congo. It has caused a lot of fights and even today the country has never realized peace: people are being shot death every day and many women and men are being raped.

Even though statistics has shown that a third of world’s population are at peace, am glad to be among them.
